Fishing Report. December 2018.
After a lot of inquiries regarding water conditions this season, here is what we have to say.
For those who were concerned about water level, we have news for you!
During our winter months we did not have as much snow as we would have liked to, and the runoff was starting to run low. However, the river gods must have heard our plea and late profuse snow and rain during October and November have drastically reversed water conditions to the point that the rivers are now running high.
This means that right now water levels are high (or back to normal) and fishing conditions are and will likely remain very positive and consistent. The Traful is holding more water now than it did last year, for example.
The Aluminé is and will surely be in great shape all season, and the Collon Cura right now looks the same or even better than last year this time. This is all great news.
What’s more, high water means ideal conditions for fish to spawn and breed, which ensures a healthy and abundant fish population for the coming years
If you’ve been thinking of a Patagonia fishing trip, this coming season may very well be a great time to come!
